We compiled a list of 6 artists who blew us away in 2017.

Slovenian baker Anita Sumer makes beautiful artwork on loaves of bread. She either cuts patterns into the dough or uses a stencil.

A slime artist who has sold hundreds of handmade slime Etsy. Ingredients she uses include glue, shaving foam, and cornstarch.

Visoth Kakvei draws incredibly intricate patterns by hand. He has even hand-decorated a banana skin. His work looks more realistic when digitally retouched.

Japanese designer Haruki Nakamura makes moving ornaments using paper. He designs them on a computer, then prints them and masterfully and puts them together.

Makeup artist Mimi Choi paints super detailed optical illusions. She uses makeup to crack, melt, and slice her face. She also transformed her hand into sushi pieces.

Alexa Meade literally paints people to make them look two dimensional. She calls the technique a “reserve trompe-l’oeil”.
